A couple months back the very well known Arctic Cooling did a little brand restructuring. They dropped the "Cooling" suffix and became known simply as "Arctic". This "new" name for Arctic would make them much more versatile for the increasing amount of non-cooling related products the company was releasing (such as the earphones we've reviewed). Each product line would then have it's own name, such as Arctic Power, Arctic Cooling, Arctic Sound, and so on. This restructuring allows Arctic to continue to expand their global product offerings into many new and exciting categories.
My first experience with the Arctic Sound line was the E series in-ear earphones a couple months back. After checking out two different models, I was glad to say they had great "bang for the buck" and wonderful sound quality. Today, I have the opportunity to check out their first speaker offering. The Arctic Sound S111 is a compact and simple USB powered stereo speaker set - great for notebooks and netbooks and those who need portable sound in general. It's time to see if these little speakers will leave me surprised, or if they'll fall amongst the poor performance of most speakers their size.
