When we think of upgrading component cooling inside a computer, the two areas that come to mind are usually a bigger CPU cooler and after-market VGA cooler. Smaller things like adding more fans (or upgrading the existing ones) are also considered. Rarely though, do we put much thought into the hard drive. Although it often gets put to the back of our minds when it comes to cooling, our hard drives can run very hot. A little extra thought into hard drive cooling will not only help them breath better, but may also do a thing or two to help silence them a little better too.
The Arctic Cooling HC01-TC is a new hard disk cooler from the guys at Arctic. It's a full enclosure for your hard drive that suspends the drive on foam in the middle (for noise reduction) and has a 40mm fan at the rear (for cooling). The chamber-like design of this cooler is sure to help give your hard drive it's own dedicated air flow - so let's see how big of a difference we'll see with a product like this.
