Introduction:
With the advent of more and more people using their computer for an all purpose multimedia center, ahead of just browsing the internet and getting email, there comes the need for a crystal clear and good sounding speaker system. As you may know, the audio on a DVD is in 5.1 surround, so when playing DVD's on your computer you're going to want a kicking set of speakers to just embed yourself in the middle of the action!

Altec Lansing is a leading manufacturer and marketer of high quality computer and home entertainment sound systems, and a line of headsets, headphones, and microphones for personal digital media.

When purchasing home entertainment gear, like anything else, you get what you pay for. When looking at the Altec Lansing VS3151 set of speakers there may be a small exception in that saying. The 5.1 set of speakers retails for $99US, but as you'll see in this review, sometimes there can be exceptions made in "you get what you pay for"!
