Antec VCool VGA Cooler

Introduction:
For those who want to add a little cooling to their video card there has always been the option of installing an aftermarket heatsink and fan to do the job. However, doing that is not something for a novice user and will also void any warranty on the card. Antec now offers the VCool which is a double slot cooler that can be placed below the video card to offer what Antec says can be 5-15 degrees celsius lower temperatures.

Features:
The main purpose of the VCool is to provide additional cooling to the video card in one's computer. Antec rates it as being able to drop the temperature anywhere from 5C to an impressive 15C. I noticed several features that make the VCool stand out over other slot VGA coolers I have seen in the past. The first is the use of only one fan, which can be extended with an included extension duct. Most other VGA coolers on the market use two fans that are attached together to be the length of a typical video card. This method is obviously louder and cools unnecessary areas of the video card. Instead of using that method, Antec has used one fan which can be adjusted so that it'll reach over the GPU of almost any card used with it. An additional difference this cooler has compared to others, is that it takes up two full slots instead of usually just one slot with other products. This allows for a bigger and quieter fan to be used to provide more cooling to the GPU.

There is a three position switch on the rear of the VCool that allows you to easily change the fan speed between low, medium and high. The dB rating ranges from 29.3dB on low to 37dB on high, with about a three cubic feet a minute airflow gain, from 11.5CFM on low speed and 15.9CFM on high speed.

Of course, what's just a plain old GPU cooler without some fancy aesthetics to it? The Antec VCool has 3 very bright blue LEDs in it which are able to illuminate the entire cooler a dark blue colour. For those with a window on their computer case, this cooler looks VERY cool!
