This monitor also comes with a special bracket that allows it to be mounted onto a wall. All the screws and hardware are included that allows mounting onto a wooden or concrete wall. The wall bracket is in 2 parts, one piece that mounts to the wall and the other piece that mounts to the bottom of the dual hinge base. These 2 pieces clip together which makes the monitor very easy to hang or remove from the wall. There is also another piece included that holds the hinge arm of the monitor in a closed position. What a wonderful idea, and very thoughtful of Samsung to include all of the required hardware. The ability to hang your monitor on the wall is just another great feature for this particular model. Having your desk top clear of your monitor and providing much more work space is certainly a ingenious feature.

The technical side of this monitor is quite impressive as well. It has a contrast ratio the highest I've used on a monitor yet - 1500:1! For those who don't know the term, the contrast ratio is the ratio between an image's brightest and darkest points. The higher the contrast ratio, the better the monitor will reproduce in-between shades. The response time on this monitor has been greatly improved over the 193P which was mainly aimed towards offices and casual home users with it's slower response time. Samsung has made the 173P+ monitor with an impressive 8ms response time! That makes this monitor appealing to anyone from gamers, HTPC users, office users, etc.

Installation:
When installing the 173P+ you have the option of analog or digital inputs, the nice thing is, both cables are included! Once you connect the input type you wish to use, the only other step is plugging in the included adapter and power cord and powering up! When the monitor turns on you'll see it cycle through both analog and digital inputs searching for a signal. If no signal is detected it will go into a sleep state.
The nice thing about the power button on this monitor is it is so sensitive that you literally need to just rest your finger on it for it to turn on, which is accompanied by a soothing "beep".

All of the setup of the monitor is done through the included MagicTune software. The only button on the entire monitor is the power button! I found there to be very little need for tweaking as the monitor looked quite superb after just being plugged in and powered on. Further adjustments on this monitor will all depend on your personal viewing preferences.

Testing:
To test the monitor I put it through a variety of games, movies, videos and just regular internet browsing. There isn't very much to say overall, with a 1500:1 contrast ratio and 8ms response time this monitor just "kicked butt"! Games and movies all looked very superb and crisp, and text and pictures from the internet also looked very good.

Overall this is just an excellent monitor in terms of performance, along with the impressive contrast ratio and fast response time. It has the great build quality and performance I have come to respect from all the Samsung monitors I have experienced in the past.
