Features: The contrast ratio of this monitor is 700:1 which is good, but I have seen several Samsung LCD's with a 1000+:1 contrast ratio. Seeing something a little higher on this monitor paired up with the 4ms response time would really be the icing on the cake. Of course I don't know if there are design limitations that make this harder to accomplish or not, I only see that as a possible improvement in the future. Putting that ultra-fast response time to good use, Samsung has made this LCD a large 19 inch screen size. As LCD prices have dropped significantly in the past year it's no longer all that expensive to get a descent 19" LCD like the 930BF anymore. Plus, when your gaming and watching movies on an LCD monitor, I say "The bigger the better"! The 930BF features both DVI and VGA style inputs which makes it possible to use this monitor on every computer out there, new or old. As well, the power supply is built into this monitor which you all know is something I'm quite picky about when it comes to LCD's. All the cables go vertically into the back of the monitor, and one of my favourite non-technical features of this monitor is a fair size removable cover which goes over all the cables once they are plugged in. This really adds a sleeker look and cleans up the overall appearance of the monitor by keeping all the cables virtually out of sight. All the buttons on this monitor are centered on the lower edge facing down. That again, is just another small feature which keeps the overall visible parts of the monitor very clean looking and not cluttered with cables or buttons. The overall appearance of this monitor makes it really suited for any application, from office to home use. |
