The next major feature is the digital image camera function. To go to this feature you press the power slider down to access the features menu then use the zoom slider (up/down) to navigate through the menu of options and select the Photo function.
Photographs are taken the same way video is recorded, by pressing the record button to snap the photo. When taking photographs you have the option of using the built in flash in either auto, always on or always off mode. I did a bunch of comparison tests and found that in regular/dim light the flash did not do very much at all to light up the subject. Only under very dull light were the effects of the flash more noticable. Images can be taken in the resolutions of 640x480, 800x600 or 1280x960.

MP3 listening was a fairly easy function to master. Simply copy MP3 files from your computer into the MiniCam memory, go into the MP3 mode and dance away! (the urge to dance may not be felt by all :) Samsung includes a set of ear buds which plug easily into the device so you don't need to hunt down your own!

Voice recording is also very easy. You first need to select that function from the menu. You then press the record button to begin recording from the top mounted microphone, and press the record button again to stop recording.

Removable storage device and web cam are two functions that only work when the MiniCam is connected to your PC through the included dock. Once you plug the camera into the dock and turn the camera's power on you are presented with a screen on the camera. From there you can select the device to operate as a USB 1.1/2.0 MassStorage device to copy files on and off, or select PC-Cam to use it as a web cam.
