Now on to the inside. The back of the case is pretty standard to what you would see in any case. On the left there are seven removable slot covers for cards with two 60mm fans beside them. Below the fans is a removable IO plate. At the far right side there is a hole to mount your power supply. One note, when a power supply is installed the rear of the supply gets very close to the back of the CD drives when they are installed so you will want to be extra careful when it comes to using modular or longer than usual power supplies because they may not fit! I found that my Magnum power supply from XGBox would not fit this case for my testing, but since I have other power supplies it wasn't a problem to mount a more standard sized supply that fit. On the bottom of the case there are motherboard mounting holes for both ATX and MicroATX motherboards. I was happy to see there was a hole for a standoff position back near the slots which my motherboard has but the TJ05 case from Silverstone lacked on it's motherboard tray. Now on to the front portion of the inside of the case. At the far left there is a 92mm fan. I did some measuring and I think there would be room for a 120mm fan which would be a little quieter in this case, but the 92mm is fairly quiet in the first place so that wasn't a big concern. In the center there is a removable drive cage which can house up to three hard drives, and at the far right is the 5.25" drive bay which can house up to two CD drives. Underneath the 5.25" bay there is another removable mount where an additional hard drive can be added. Installation: Next step you'll want to do is wire up the VFD. This is done by plugging the included ATX power jumper into the ATX power plug on your motherboard then plugging your power supply into the jumper. Don't worry, it supports both 20 and 24 pin ATX plugs. This jumper has a wire that leads off of it which you must plug into the power wire which comes off the back of the VFD. Next step is to plug the VFD into either a USB port or a USB header on your motherboard. Silverstone includes a fancy little adapter to give you the choice of either the port or header. Next you'll want to plug the power switch into the wire coming off the VFD and the other power switch lead going from the VFD onto your motherboard. Those are the major steps of installation, the rest is basically wiring up all your components and getting your hardware installed the way you want it. As I mentioned above, the manual is VERY detailed so any PC user from beginner to advanced can easily install a computer into this case. |
