Steelpad S&S

Introduction:
Today we'll be looking at the latest performance mouse pad from Steelpad, the S&S. Steelpad has held the reputation of building the best high performance mouse pads out there, gamers swear by them and clans give them 2 thumbs up. Let's see if this is the same for the S&S!

In The Box:
(1) Steelpad
(1) Carrying Case

Specs:
Dimensions: 320 x 270 x 2 mm
Manufacturing Material: Plastic

Features:
The first feature which is noticeable right out of the box is the included sleeve. This allows you to pack away your Steelpad S&S safely during travel to prevent any damage. Not only can the sleeve house the Steelpad, but there is another zipper pouch in the back where you could house your mouse or maybe some of your favorite games.

Once the Steelpad is removed from the sleeve, it is evident that despite the name, the Steelpad is actually manufactured out of plastic, not steel. The plastic has a very slight texture which I find is just right for great accuracy and little friction between the mouse and the pad.
When the S&S is flipped over, the back is covered in a textured gel like material to hold the pad firmly in place. When I set the pad on my desk and tried to move it it required a large amount of effort to even get the pad to budge, let alone move anywhere. With that you don't need to worry about it slipping out from under you during games!

For those who are upgrading to the Steelpad S&S from a regular mouse pad, you will notice that it is quite large. In my opinion the Steelpad is a "perfect" size, it's not too small yet it's not large enough that you could carpet your floor with it!

Testing:
For testing I simply played a variety of games to put the Steelpad S&S through it's paces.
In all the games I played, the Steelpad did nothing but impress me. I found the surface to be just the right texture where the mouse is able to move with little friction yet be extremely accurate at the same time.

Conclusion:
The Steelpad S&S is a winner! I personally have never used a mouse surface that has matched up to the S&S. It's performance is nothing short of perfect and the carrying sleeve will let you walk into LAN parties looking like a pro. The only thing holding it back from a 10/10 would have to be the price. Serious LAN partiers and gamers would pay the $40USD, but the average home gamer might be a little reluctant to spend that much. I say it's well worth the money!

Pros:
High accuracy
Great size
Carrying sleeve

Cons:
Price

Rating: 9.5/10
