Testing:
To test the NexStar 3 I will use HDDTach to benchmark the performance of an internal IDE hard drive and compare it to that of an IDE drive in the NexStar 3 enclosure. Results of both tests are shown in the screen shots below.

Conclusion:
Overall I was extremely happy with the Vantec NexStar 3. This is an excellent 3.5" drive enclosure which offers great performance and some very sleek styling which will definitely make it's looks stand out among other enclosures. If you are looking for an external hard drive enclosure, I highly recommend the NexStar 3 from Vantec.
