ATake Two Colour UV LED Fan

Introduction:
Computer lighting has really evolved as it has become more popular. There's regular cathodes, UV, LED light strips, "bubble" light strips, LED fans, cathode lit fans, and on and on. Today we're taking a look at a Dual Colour UV LED Fan made by ATake. The unusual thing about this fan is that the blades are lit one colour and the body of the fan is lit another colour! Very neat effect.

Features:
The fan itself is constructed very strong and has the feeling of quality. In the corners there are a total of 4 UV (Ultra Violet) LEDs on the entire fan. When in operation, these LEDs are extremely bright and provide a very good effect and illumination of the fan. Each LED is held securely in place by a bulge of glue around it. These bulges of glue were quite large and obstructed trying to set the fan down on the 25mm edge. Considering the fan will be mounted in a case and won't be sitting on that edge this should be no problem to you.

Another thing I was happy to see was a 3 pin fan connector. This allows it to easily plug into a fan header on a motherboard or fan controller. For those who wish to run it off a 4 pin molex connector, ATake also includes a 3 to 4 pin adapter with the fan. The adapter and all it's wires are UV reactive, however I was disappointed to see that the wire and connector on the fan itself is not UV reactive.

Testing:
When I first turned on this fan I was very surprised at how quiet it was! For getting 32.5CFM of airflow and running at a quiet 28.3DBA, this fan has an amazing performance to noise ratio. Although I do not have the proper testing tools here for measuring sound levels, I'd say that it runs a lot quieter than 28DBA. Many LED fans I've had experience with in the past have been a great deal louder than this one.

The lighting effects of this fan is quite amazing. The blades are illuminated an orange colour while the outer body is illuminated blue. This adds an awesome effect to your case and will make this fan stand out above those regular old LED fans.

Conclusion:
Overall I was very impressed by the ATake Dual Colour UV Fan. The dual colour adds an effect to the fan that will definately make it stand out above the rest. The other feature I really liked was that it has a very high level of airflow yet operates so quietly.

Pros:
Quiet
Great airflow
Two colours add a great effect
3 Pin Connector
3 to 4 pin adapter included

Cons:
Short cable
Fan wires/connector should be UV reactive as well for added effect

Rating: 8.5/10
