Features:
The main aim of the MM28 speakers is portability for the media person who is on the go. Both speakers are mounted into one easy to carry enclosure. It even has a fold up cover that serves as a base when in operation. If you chose to battery power the unit with 4 AA batteries then you don't even need to carry the adapter so the MM28 can easily be tucked away and will give you approximately 45 hours of listening time. The unit itself measures roughly 20cm long by 11cm wide and has a thin height of only 3cm!

The technology behind the MM28 is very unique in itself. It uses NXT Technology to create the sound you hear. If you look and feel the front panel you'll notice that there are no openings where sound from speakers could be heard, it's entirely solid. That's because the whole front panel is a speaker itself! NXT Technology uses the vibration of this panel to create a stereophonic sound. As battery time is around 45 hours, this is also a technology which does not require alot of power to function.

Installation:
There isn't really much installation with the MM28 speaker system. You simply chose your power source, either 4 AA batteries or the included adapter. The only thing left to do after that is plug the jack into your audio device's 1/8" output and power on the speakers using the button on the top. When powered on, the power logo in the middle of the button lights up a nice blue colour.

Testing:
To test the Logitech MM28 I listened to a large variety of music being as it's main intended use is on a portable music player. I also watched parts of a few movies to test how well it would perform for those using it on a portable DVD player or even a video iPod.

I was very impressed with what I heard the first time I used the MM28 speakers. At first glance it's looks will certainly leave some some people questioning, as the NXT technology is very unique looking. Even with no visual clues that this is a speaker system, the sound produced from the MM28 was very clean and clear and gave a surprising amount of bass as well. Every type of audio I tested it with, be it music or speech (movie dialogue), it sounded excellent and the MM28 was able to output a decent amount of sound that could very easily be heard by anyone in the room.
