Conclusion:
Putting aside the installation issues I had on my AMD system, the GlacialTech coolers performed great for their size and price. I'm glad to see that the silent version is truly a silent cooler unlike many other "silent" products being sold on the market these days. If you're looking for a CPU cooler upgrade but don't want to shell out a pile of money, then the Igloo 5710 series is something to consider looking into. My only complaint is the universal mounting system - it wouldn't hurt for GlacialTech to revisit this design and perhaps improve it a little.
Pros:
Both performed great
Two models available
Silent model actually was silent! (unlike many other products on the market that are falsely called 'silent')
Wasn't an extremely bulky sized cooler
Socket 775 installation now uses the clip-in method instead of having to screw it into the backplate
Cons:
I'd like to see a better universal socket mounting system, I had some installation problems on one system
