Features:
The NX-8050 is cooled with a quiet 120mm fan. Nexus rate's the supply to have an idle noise level of 17.6dB(A), which is pretty quiet. Since this is just the idle level however, once the power supply loads up the noise level will increase as the fan speeds up to cool the extra heat generated.
I particularly liked Nexus' approach to the modular cable system this power supply uses. Most power supplies have every single cable modular, even the ATX and 4/8-pin ones which are used by every motherboard on the market. Being vital cables which you would never detach when in use, Nexus has opted to make these cables non-modular and hard-wired into the NX-8050. Additionally, one PCI-Express power connector is also hard-wired, the second is modular. All cables have black ends and are sleeved nicely with a black mesh sleeve to match. I think this a great idea and should reduce manufacturing costs slightly by not using these modular plugs where they are certainly not required.
I'm going to quote Nexus on a description of the Active PFC feature on this power supply, as I think they say it best: "Power Factor Correction (PFC) allows the power distribution system to operate at maximum efficiency. This does not so much influence your electricity bill but it will reduce energy consumption at the side of the power provider so it is contributing to using our planets resources better and more careful. Active PFC is technically more complex then passive PFC and better matches the overall high quality standard and reliability of these Nexus power supplies."
In terms of cabling, the NX-8060 has a 20/24 pin ATX connector, 2 PCI-Express connectors, a 4/8 pin motherboard connector, 6 SATA connectors, 7 molex, 2 floppy and an additional 8 pin and additional PCI-Express connector.
