Features: The only physical switch on the K3 is the hold/power switch on the right side. I liked the way Samsung chose to do this. When held downwards the switch will turn the player on and go back to the middle when released. When pushed upwards, it will latch and put the player in lock mode to disable all the touchpad functions when in use. The back of the player is entirely black with an extremely small reset button tucked away on the bottom. The model of K3 we reviewed is the black 2gb one. There is also a 4gb version available as well, for those who wish to carry more music and photos with them. If black isn't your style, then red and lime green are also newly available colours for this player. The K3 has something most smaller profile MP3 players are starting to exclude, infact, most MP3 players in general are starting to exclude this - a radio. When I'm on the go, alongside having all my favourite songs with me, nothing still beats turning on the radio to catch a radio show or two. So this is a big feature in my books for an MP3 player to include and I love how Samsung has kept this on a large number of their mp3 players.
For those wishing to take some photos on the go with them, the K3 has a photo viewer option as well. The OLED screen shows all your photos in very bright and vivid full colour. For regular playback, the K3 has a rated battery time of 25 hours. Of course this all depends on the different screen settings you use, screensaver, sound modes, etc. But still, the K3 has a battery time far better than most (not all) MP3 players out there as I see a lot at this time averaging around 12 hours. The player both charges and does data transfer through one USB cable, using a 24-pin connecter at the end going into the player. When connected to the computer, the K3 functions as an MTP device, not as a normal removable storage device. Although fine for most, I personally wish it would function as a removable storage device because I prefer the ease of use for file transfer that way. Samsung includes their Media Studio software to make file transfer quick and easy for those who like to use extra software instead of Media Player or My Computer to transfer their files.
Installation: Of course you can also transfer files through My Computer and most other popular media players as well.
