Installation:
Of course when starting the unboxing experience one can't help but notice the many logos at the bottom of the box stating what operating systems this enclosure is compatible with. Usually stuff like this doesn't stand out to me, but when I saw the Windows 3.1 logo being used to represent Windows one thing came to mind; if I were not a tech savvy consumer and I saw this box on the shelf bearing that logo, I would likely think this is some kind of really old hardware that a store is clearing out. At least, that's usually the case with most packages these days that still bear the Windows 3.1 logo... I don't think it would hurt Eagle Tech to upgrade their logos to at least the new Vista logo because we all know packaging plays a crucial role in selling products to the average consumer.

Since I touched on the installation above I won't repeat myself again here.. The only minor problem I had during installation was that while screwing on the back cover the holes did not line up perfectly with the threaded holes on the enclosure itself. An easy solution to this was to just apply a bit of pressure to hold the back plate further down so the screw holes would line up enough to get the two screws in.

Testing:
When it comes to testing a simple little enclosure like this, there really isn't a whole lot that can be done. I gave it the basic top to bottom inspection and wasn't able to see any noticable design or manufacturing flaws. When it was all assembled several twists and turns revealed it was certainly a study enclosure as well. Apart from my minor issue when screwing it back together, I was quite impressed with the build quality of this little enclosure.

Conclusion:
For the price it'll run you, I'm happy to see this inexpensive little enclosure brings not only a refreshing look to most 2.5" drive enclosures but it also brings along excellent build quality to withstand the road. I was very happy with what I saw of the Consus L-Series from Eagle Tech, it's definitely made a great first impression for them here. If you're shopping for a 2.5" SATA drive enclosure, definitely take the time to check this one out!

Pros:
Excellent styling choice, I'm glad to see something original in this area
Easy installation
Durable
Including the USB extension/Y cable is nice for those who are limited in how they connect it to their PC

Cons:
Not a con of the product itself, but the Windows 3.1 logo doesn't help marketing very much
