Taking the top off and looking inside and you'll see not only the usual case and PSU wiring but also some extra cables for the iMON setup. The cable that hooks into the ATX plug on the power supply will actually allow you to power on and off your computer by using the remote control. The back of your optical drive will be a tight fit, as you can see it snug's right up to the side of the motherboard area. The hard drive bay, capable of holding two hard drives, is positioned sideways compared to the optical drive, this is a smart choice to help eliminate cable clutter over top of your motherboard. Since our version did have the VFD and remote I'll touch a little on what can all be done with this feature. Anyone familiar with HTPC cases and accessories will likely have heard of the iMON name before because it is a very common accessory for many case makers to integrate into their products. Not only does this system provide a large VFD display and remote control, but it also comes with a great home theatre PC program; iMedian. With this program you don't need to bother paying for expensive HTPC software on it's own nor do you need to have a "media center" version of Microsoft Windows. Everything from videos, to music, to TV card integration will be taken care of in the iMedian software. Additionally, a separate program included will be the brain behind the VFD display. The display is highly customizable so I'll just touch on the basics here. You can have it display a graphic EQ, system information, media information, email updates, daily news, city information or any other host of plugins. As you can see from the picture of the remote below, since it can control your mouse and many other programmed features there is basically no need for a keyboard or mouse to operate your HTPC. If you're looking for an in-depth, multipage review of just the iMon and iMedian capabilities then I suggest checking out my review of the Silverstone MFP51.
