Many keyboard manufacturers have their own attempts at making an ergonomic desktop set, that is, keyboard and mouse combo pack. We see a lot of creative ideas and shapes going into not only the mice, but also the keyboards, in an attempt to make the most ergonomic pieces of hardware possible. No matter how long we use them for, every time we use our computers we are primarily, and heavily, interacting with our mouse and keyboard. For those who use their computers a lot, such as office workers, this can lead to many very serious injuries if their ergonomics are not correct. Look into repetitive strain injuries such as carpel tunnel syndrome to learn more about this.

The Cordless Wave is one of Logitech's first major offerings into an ergonomics based desktop set. Called "the exciting new shape of comfort in desktops", Logitech is promoting healthy ergonomics in both the mouse and keyboard with this set.

Let's start with the mouse itself before moving on to talk about the keyboard. Most Logitech fans will quickly recognize the mouse included as being Logitech's LX8 cordless laser mouse, the only twist being a slightly different colour on the top panel of it. Each side of the mouse is covered in a firm rubber grip and in addition to the usual mouse controls on the top, each side also has a large button on it. These side buttons essentially serve as forward/back buttons but can be user programmed as well. The mouse is supposed to have an improved battery life that's said to last up to six months; something great to do for marketing to compete with many new Microsoft mice that are also promising six months of battery life now too. Being laser based, the mouse will deliver much smoother operation compared to optical mice because of the laser's increased tracking abilities.
