The keyboard is the biggest highlight of this desktop and that which the name was taken from. The Cordless Wave keyboard represents a whole new style of ergonomic keyboards. Logitech has taken many other manufacturer's arc'd ergonomic designs and added a new dimension to them. Extend your hand flat in front of you. Your outside fingers are shorter than the middle ones right? That's where the new dimension comes in on this keyboard. If you hold it at eye level and look across the keys, there's an actual wave in them; the heights are all different! The keys your middle fingers sit on are lower than where the outside fingers sit. This means you don't have to force all your fingers flat when you use a keyboard, you can rest your hand on it much more naturally than on previous keyboards. To add to the comfort of this new keyboard design, the wrist rest is also a padded material instead of solid plastic - luxury I say!

Like almost every keyboard these days, the Wave certainly does not go without all the extra enhancement keys. Like most laptop keyboards, the Wave keyboard actually has an Fn (Function) button. This activates the second functions that all the F keys have. The second functions are actually what is printed right on the top of these keys and the F1-F12 labels are printed on the forward edge. I thought this may be a bit confusing but when I used it I realized that this slight relocation of key label location did not make any difference to me when looking for keys and it went unnoticed.

The top function keys include buttons for gadgets, search pictures, media player, launch windows media center, standby and calculator. As usual, all these keys can be assigned to different tasks through the Logitech SetPoint software. Above the F keys is a media control area as well. These buttons feature forward, backward, stop, play/pause, volume up/down and mute. Additionally, off to the far right of the keyboard there's a calculator and sleep button. You can see all these keys in the pictures below to better understand the layout.

Gadgets anyone? For Microsoft's Windows Vista, Logitech has developed three Vista Gadgets that accompany the SetPoint software. There's a status indicator for caps lock, num lock and scroll lock, a typing speed indicator and an error-rate tracker that's calculated by the number of times the user hits the backspace key.

When you flip the keyboard over you can see that Logitech has expanded on the typical fold out feet that provide tilt for your keyboard. Each foot is actually a double foot, providing two different heights that can be folded out; 4 degrees and 8 degrees. Another great idea !
