Installation:
Since the keyboard and mouse will both work in legacy mode when no bluetooth drivers are present, you don't need to worry about them not working before they're installed. Using Logitech's SecureConnect feature, there is no connection hassles to go through when you first plug in the receiver; both keyboard and mouse are already connected and ready to go. Once the Logitech software is installed however, you will then have full bluetooth functionality.

Testing:
After installation I went through all the SetPoint pages to setup the mouse and keyboard functions the way I wanted them. Unfortunately during this time I was presented with more than one software crash, leading me to have to restart the SetPoint program and often redo a few changes I had made prior to the crash. This was something that occurred throughout the week I was testing the product, whenever I made a large number of changes in the program. Once I got things the way I wanted it and didn't need to go back to the SetPoint software, it ran quietly in my taskbar without a single problem. Of course these problems could be something with the operation of my computer and the software that I have installed. Conflicts are not always related specifically to the program that is having problems.

Upon first booting into Windows after starting the computer, I always found that the keyboard would take a key press or two before it would start going. It was detected because the computer always saw it there, but for some reason the first few key presses were never actually picked up. Although maybe a tad annoying, once I got used to it this wasn't a problem for me at all and I'm sure it's something to do with the bluetooth half of things.

Overall use of the keyboard and mouse was superb and without any problems. The keyboard was significantly quieter than the Wave keyboard we previously reviewed here. I always find it much more comfortable to type for long periods of time on a quiet keyboard without having to listen to the "click click" of all my letters flying by as I press them. Although it took me a while to adjust to having the screen at the top of the keyboard, I found it quite useful at times once I did get used to it's presence.

The mouse was very comfortable to use for extended periods of time and seemed to have a nice slant to it for the wrist so you aren't always forcing it flat like with a traditional mouse. The added search button was very useful at times when I wanted to look up something from within a current document or an article I was reading. The Flip 3D button was something I changed to another vertical scroll option because Flip 3D is taken care of on the keyboard already.
