Installation:
Installation is literally as simple as just pairing the mouse with your computer. Once it's paired up with your bluetooth enabled computer or laptop, it's ready to go! Since Microsoft has no drivers to support this mouse yet, there is no driver installation required as of this time.

Testing:
I can't say that very much goes into testing a mouse like this, especially when there aren't any special software-based features like some mice have. However, overall performance of the mouse was excellent and the laser engine was definitely very precise and smooth to work with. There's not much to say about the back button, but it worked without issue, so that's always notable.

Conclusion:
For the retail price it is, the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 is an excellent mouse. It's plug-and-play capabilities make it something you can set and forget. There's no need to mess about with drivers or anything like that in order to get it all working. However, I would like to see Microsoft add driver support for this mouse because the ability to tweak it further and change button profiles is something that many users will look for in a mouse. Changing it's power source to an AA battery would also probably help to increase it's appeal to some. Overall though, this is a great performing and great looking mouse for the low price it is!

Pros:
Comfortable mouse for it's small size
Great performance and laser engine
Unique and sporty looking design and colours
Included padded carry pouch

Cons:
Uses AAA batteries instead of a single AA like most notebook mice
No official driver support yet from Microsoft, it just has to use the standard mouse driver
