I feel like I almost don't even need to say this with most new power supplies, but the NX-8060 is 80 Plus certified. This means that it should have an efficiency of 80% or above during operation. To you, this means less heat, more silence and more power savings. If you buy a new good quality power supply you'd be hard pressed to find one that isn't falling into this 80 Plus certified category these days.

The internal fan is ADDA's AD1212MB-A71GL, ring any bells? ADDA also makes the fans for the very popular and silent Seasonic brand as well as the recently reviewed GlacialPower 650A, and too many other brands to list here. It seems that this is the fan to use when you're building for extreme silence. Nexus rates it as idling around 19.6dB(A) in the NX-8060. I must say that I was rather surprised to not see one of Nexus' own fans in here though. Their fans still fall into our top 3 list for recommended silent fans, in addition to winning handfuls of awards from many big sites around the internet as well. Maybe this is an area we'll see them experiment in on future brands. I would be intrigued to see just how well their own fans would perform in a power supply setting. The ADDA fan specs are found below. Keep in mind it is a thermally controlled fan, so it will generally never be running at full speed. The acoustic noise curve for this exact power supply can be found below the specs chart for the fan.
