Installation: For network installation, no matter how you're using it on your network, you'll have to start by plugging it into your router. From there, you can log into the printer using your web browser to configure it for network use. If you choose to use it wirelessly then you can simply unplug it after the initial setup and it will always connect to your network upon power on. When adding a network printer to your local computer, you simply go into the printer settings of your OS and choose to add a network printer. Testing: Pictures only: I was left satisfied when I saw the results of printing colour images on the CLP-315W. Comparing it to past colour laser printers from Samsung showed an image quality that wasn't quite as nice but I did have to keep in mind that this is a much more budget-oriented unit. Although the pictures are slightly grainier with a little less contrast, they are by no means "bad" for a cheaper priced colour laser printer (always keep in mind that few colour laser printers will truly match inkjet quality yet, they are still a breed of their own). Text: Text printing was just as crisp as I would expect from any laser printer so I have nothing to comment on here... except those really slow print speeds again... Text/Picture: Deciding to try something that a unit like this is perfectly designed for, I printed off a short magazine article for one of my classes. This was a mix of text columns with a variety of sizes of pictures throughout. For uses like this where photos aren't the emphasis, the CLP-315W offers a fast and low priced option to get your content printed.
