BD-P1500
The BD-P1500 is the latest Bluray player in Samsung's line. Supporting all your 1080p bluray needs and Dolby TrueHD it allows you to be truly emerged in the latest high definition movies.

The styling on this player is kept very sleek, simple and modern as you can see in the pictures below. The buttons on the player will allow you to take control of basic playback functions but for further control you'll have to turn to the remote. On the back you're given the digital HDMI output as well as a digital audio out, component video out and an AV out. The USB port on the back will allow you to do easy firmware updates, available straight from Samsung, to always allow your player to play the latest and greatest Bluray/DVD media without an issue. The RJ-45 networking jack was a pleasant surprise as well. This will allow you to enjoy future networking connectivity on Bluray discs.

Of course the technicalities of the BD-P1500 are what's expected of most Bluray players. It supports full 1080p movies and those using the latest Dolby TrueHD audio encoding. Upconverting to 1080p is available when playing back DVD media through the HDMI output. The HDMI does support CEC (consumer electronics control) and Samsung makes great use of that with their Anynet+ feature allowing any Samsung remote to run any Samsung product that's connected in the system.

Unlike the TV's remote, the remote for Samsung's new bluray player is not a light up remote. Why? I keep asking myself the same question because if release dates serve me correct, this player is slightly newer than the TV. The design of the remote with this player is what I would call your average Samsung remote. It looks and operates just like most other Samsung DVD/TV remotes I've seen and used in the past with the exceptions of obvious changes for this product. Again, you'll notice the TV controls on this remote, such as volume and channel, I'm glad to see Samsung really pushing their Anynet+ feature on the new products. In my opinion, cutting down on the number of remotes is fabulous and any manufacturer who can effectivly do that with good remote designs will certainly get brownie points.
