Features:
As I mentioned in the introduction, the specs on the new S-Flex G now make it the highest performing fan in the S-Flex series from Scythe. You can use it on it's own for a high performing fan where noise isn't an issue, or you can pair it up with a fan controller to keep it running silent most of the time but giving you the ability to increase the performance when needed.

With the advent of most new cases supporting almost entirely 120mm cooling fans and even a lot of performance CPU coolers running 120mm fans, the S-Flex series is only available in the 120mm size.

I have always been in favor of the Fluid Dynamic Bearing design that Scythe uses in this line of fans. It offers a MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) rating of 150,000 hrs. This is a rating that is vastly higher than that of ball/sleeve bearing fans and still almost double that of a lot of other fans using newer and alternative bearing styles that differ from the ball or sleeve style. Since Sony owns the patent to the FDB design, the bearings used in these fans are of course genuine Sony bearings. Below is an illustration of the bearing design for those who want to see the specifics.

Installation:
When it comes to installation, this step will vary for every user and application. Power to the fan is provided via 3-pin connector but Scythe is nice enough to still include a 3-pin to molex adapter for those wanting to power the fan directly off the power supply. Included to mount the fan is 4 mounting screws but no rubber shock mounts.
