Conclusion:
The Expressionist ULTRA is really a wonderful set of speakers from Altec Lansing. During this review, I had an opportunity to visit my local Best Buy and listen to these speakers on display against several other sets in the same price range. I found that the Expressionist's had not only a much more balanced sound, but also a nice crisp high range and tight, defined bass from the subwoofer. There's no doubt that these sparkers will make a permanent addition to one of my home computer systems. I would also highly recommend them to anyone looking to pay a little extra and buy a nice set of computer speakers instead of cheaping out on a sub-$100 set - you do get what you pay for.

Pros:
Wonderful and unique looks
Great sound quality
Control pod gives easy access to all controls as well as headphone/aux. in ports
Great build quality, the acrylic doesn't come off as "cheap looking" as some might think

Cons:
Hissing got annoying when nothing was being played through the speakers
Lack of wireless remote
