The UFO V51 is one of the most unique looking CPU coolers I've seen in quite a while. Built on top of the aluminum heatsink fins is a "body" which vaguely makes you think of a UFO spaceship. The sides are a dark gold colour with a mirrored aluminum strip running horizontally down the middle of each side. There's one 92mm fan on both the top and bottom of the heatsink portion (since it is suspended on four heatpipes). Two decorative black plastic pieces wrap around the far ends to hide the screws from the fans and to frame them up a little nicer too. These black plastic frames also display the GlacialTech name; written nicely in shiny chrome. The far ends of the heatsink are left open and will probably help to pull in some of the hot air in from RAM sticks to provide additional component cooling.

As mentioned, the UFO V51 uses four heatpipes to transfer the CPU's heat up to the heatsink portion of the cooler. Interestingly enough, these four pipes are actually two different diameters. The inner pipes have an 8mm diameter and the outer two have a 6mm diameter. Without looking very closely at them, this size difference could be hard to notice! The large aluminum heatsink at the top of the heatpipes has 43 fins. These fins are cut with a wavy top and bottom instead of straight lines which is likely to aid in more air turbulence from the fans which will in turn provide better cooling of the heatsink.

The UFO V51 is available with two different fan speed options; PWM and Silent. The PWM version will allow the system's motherboard to dynamically control the fan speeds to correspond with how much cooling is needed for the CPU's load state. The silent version, being reviewed here today, has a set RPM that both fans operate at to provide a happy medium of silent cooling and good performance. The fan specifications for both versions are as follows:
Silent: 1600RPM, 29.56CFM, 19dBA
PWM: 800-2500RPM, Max. 46.18CFM, Max. 32dBA (Minimum fan values are not provided)
Although the UFO cooler does have two fans it only requires one fan plug because a sleeved Y cable is used to link the fans power cables together.
