Installation: Testing: When I first turned the TV on I decided to check out some of the slideshow pictures that are included in the built-in content library. The quality and depth of colour on these images were phenomenal! The local LED backlight dimming means that blacks really are BLACK on the LN55A950! I did not see any sort of backlight bleed or "soft" blacks that may be experienced on traditional LCD TV's. Samsung also has what they call an "ultra clear panel" on this model. It's essentially a gloss coating, similar to that on my favourite 2232GW monitor from them, which does not reflect light but promises more vivid colours and better contrast than traditional matte finishes. I always loved that coating on my monitor because the colours seem so much deeper than traditional screens and it seems to be the same way when a similar coating is used on their LCD TV's. Throughout watching quite a variety of movies on this TV I had no complaints that stood out to me.
