Installation:
Both USB and network installation of the ML-2855ND were fairly simple although network installation will require a little bit more time. To set it up using USB I simply had to install the driver after plugging it into my computer. Network installation will likely require you to pull out the manual, although using it on a basic network shouldn't be too difficult for just about anyone to setup.
Testing:
Print speeds were certainly impressive from the ML-2855ND; it's not everyday that a 30PPM printer crosses my test bed. When it comes to commenting on the print quality there really isn't a whole lot to say since all good laser printers will basically have the same print quality when it comes to basic text documents. I did print a handful of images as well but found I had to use the printer's settings to lighten them up slightly to avoid large black spots.
Conclusion:
The Samsung ML-2855ND is certainly a great printer for a small office situation or even a large home network where lots of users need the ability to print quickly. Selling for around $200 Canadian it can print up to 30 pages per minute, hold up to 300 sheets of paper right out of the box, give you full duplex abilities and have an overhead of 50,000 sheets per month duty cycle. When I compared it to many other competitors for this range of printer I was not able to find one that could do this much while still staying under the $200 price tag!
Pros:
Fast print speeds!
Provides network interfacing as well as standard USB
Full duplexing ability
Large monthly duty cycle for it's kind
Up to 550 sheet capacity
Good price
Cons:
None that I could find
