The XL2370 stays true to the same design concept that Samsung has been using on a lot of their display products (TVs/Monitors) for the last year; the 'Touch of Colour' design. This incorporates a smooth flowing, glossy bezel that usually fades from black on the inside edges, to completely transparent around the outside edges. Depending on the model, you may find some colour incorporated into this fade as well. The XL2370 keeps it simple by using a black bezel that fades out to transparent, no colour mixed in here.

This 'Touch of Colour' design is kept true right down to the base, which has the same flowing design as the monitor bezel itself. One thing that has begun to disappoint me over the past couple of years with Samsung monitors is the fact that almost none of them have adjustable height anymore. Back when I first started reviewing their LCD monitors, practically every model had this! Although it does help to save bulk and make a nice compact design without this, face it, it's really impractical and uncomfortable for most. When I set the XL2370 on my desk I'm looking down at it and that isn't very ergonomic at all. To bring it up to a comfortable viewing height, I need a monitor stand. A lot PC users solve this problem by mounting their monitors on an arm or wall mount, but the XL2370 also lacks the standard VESA mounting holes, thus eliminating all possibilities of mounting it anywhere higher.

The lower right corner of the front bezel is where all the capacitive buttons reside. The power button stays illuminated a soft white, and by touching the bezel beside it, it will illuminate all the other buttons. Being capacitive, these buttons operate simply by touch - no moving parts here.

Take a quick look down the profile of this monitor in my shot below - it's incredibly thin! This is one of the benefits of LED technology that not all manufacturers are fully taking advantage of in their monitors. Although adding VESA mounting holes on the back would likely make it a little thicker, it would still be worth it.
