The body of the P3 is a very durable metal casing with a tempered glass touchscreen. This sure beats the usual plastic bodies and plastic screen coverings I see on most other players - with some exceptions of course! When you have the P3 in your hands there really is no doubt about the solid, durable feel to the player. A good first impression like this usually leaves me hoping for more good things to come when I get the player powered on.

The P3 is a flash-based media player available in 4, 8, 16 and 32gb variations. At this time it is only available in black, although I'm curious if Samsung will ever release any other colours as they've done with many players in the past. The screen is a touchscreen, three inch WQVGA screen running at a resolution of 480 x 272 (for comparison the iPod Touch is 480x320 - so the two aren't far apart). I particularly loved the haptic feedback effect Samsung chose to associate with the touch screen. Basically, what it does is gives a slight vibration every time you touch and release from the touch screen. It may be a small touch, but it allows you to have an indication that you have actually made a selection - something otherwise unknown on most touch players until the action actually commits. Think of it like a touchscreen player but with the feel of operating a button-based player.
