Conclusion:
If you're looking for a home theatre PC case or a rackmount case but don't want to be confined to limited expandability and/or small form factor size hardware, then the Silverstone LC13-E might just be for you. It offers nearly the same number of hard drive bays as any full size tower would making it a perfect media or studio PC housing.
Being able to use full size components means you can still build a system with the hardware you really want and won't be stuck with the limited availability of small form factor hardware. To top things off, the simplistic yet eye catching style of this case rides hand in hand with the stellar build quality I've come to expect from Silverstone products.
*** For those wondering the difference between the older LC13 and the LC13-E which we reviewed here today, the primary two differences are as follows;
- LC13-E has upgraded cooling (2x80mm fans instead of the LC13's louder 60mm fans)
- LC13-E is based on an entirely different chassis design. It has significantly more drive bays than the older LC13. This new chassis enhances cooling and gives added expandability.
So although they may look the same on the outside, they are entirely different inside!
Pros:
Simplistic and stylish design
High quality manufacturing and materials used (not cheap or flimsy anywhere)
Accepts standard size components
Rack-mountable (with optional rack ears)
Plenty of drive bays
Good cooling setup and capabilities
Very reasonable price for the size, features and amazing quality
Cons:
Nothing stood out to me as a definite con while reviewing this case
